Why the name Cirrus 635 Desk?

The flowing grains of the solid maple hardwood mimic the curly forms of high Cirrus clouds against a bright blue sky. There is lots of blue in this desk, and the frequency of blue light is at 635 Terahertz! You can also see the desk at our showroom and factory at 635 Enterprise Drive in Central Ohio.

Each desk is a limited-edition, numbered piece of functional art

The Cirrus 635 desk is the pinnacle of art, style, form and functionality.  With the highlighted natural wood grain, each piece is truly unique. That is why each limited-edition desk is a numbered piece that will stand the test of time. 

Hand-selected solid maple hardwood

The desktop is made from the highest grade of solid maple hardwood available.  Each board is carefully selected for its unique wood grain, then expertly joined by craftsman woodworkers.

The wood that we have chosen for this desk comes from an FSC sustainable wood source located in the beautiful rolling hills of southern Ohio. 

Laser-cut, 1/2" plate aluminium desk legs with precision milled feet

The elegant design of the desk legs is elevated by the premium choice of material. Each leg started as a 1/2" thick plate of aluminium then artfully laser-cut into a unique and functional shape.

The desk feet have been precision milled out a solid block of aluminum, then combined with a solid maple wood base and large 2" levelers.

Integrated cable management

Cable management is a hallmark of all Caretta desks.  Computer and monitor wires and cables neatly disappear withing a cable tray that has been integrated into the structure of the desk.  Wire passages on the desktop and easy-access panels on the cable tray remove the wire clutter from your space. 

The desk drawer has cutouts in the back that allow connectivity for your laptop.

Surge-suppressing power strip

A  9 outlet surge suppressing power strip is attached directly to the cable tray under the desk top. Plugs are spaced far enough apart so you can plug transformers side by side. There are LED indicators to show that surge suppression is active and the strip is plugged into a grounded circuit.

Monitor display options and mounting

The desktop is sized to neatly fit a Dell 37" curved display.  There is also a mounting location in the center of the desktop to mount a dual-monitor arm.  A thru-hole mount is much more elegant and secure than a edge clamp monitor mount. 

Qi Wireless charging for phone and watch

Each desk comes standard with a large Qi wireless charger that includes the capability of charging your Apple watch, and can charge up to 5 devices at once. (Samsung Galaxy watch charger available by request). The desktop has a dedicated space for this charger with wire holes that give direct access to the cable tray and power strip. 

Dedicated space for USB hubs or other wired devices

On the desktop, there is a dedicated, recessed space that is designed for USB/charging hubs or other wired devices. There is a wiring hole that gives direct access to the desk cable tray and power strip. 

Locking drawer can be used as keyboard tray or for wired devices

The drawer face can be opened so the drawer can be used as a keyboard tray.

There are openings in the back of the drawer to route cables to the desk cable tray and power strip.

It also features aluminum clad construction with roller bearing slides and a soft lining.

High-current plugs at desktop

There are two, easy and convenient plugs directly under the front of the desktop.  These plugs make quickly plugging in a laptop or other device for daily use a breeze. 

Storage shelf for laptops, tablets, books or binders

This is a very useful space under the desktop to place your laptop computers, tables, books or binders that you need quick access to on a daily basis.

Shelves with blue LED edge-lit highlights

The shelves on the desk are laser cut from crystal clear, 1/2" thick acrylic, giving them a beautiful modern look. Each shelf is then lit with a blue LED accent light that highlights the edges of the shelves. The LED's are very low-current and come with a power supply.  There is a switch so the lights can be turned on or off.

LED task light plugged into desktop

There is a small flexible light that can be plugged into the desktop on either side. This LED task light has 2 dimming levels.

Desk cup-holder retracts under desktop when not in use

Your drink is always easily within reach and off of your desktop. When you are not using the cup-holder, it neatly swivels under the desktop, hidden from view.

The desk comes with a ceramic blue coffee cup from Crate & Barrel.
